Paraffin Wax

Paraffin Wax is derived from petroleum, coal, or shale oil during the refining process. Paraffin wax is a white or translucent, odorless, tasteless solid material made primarily of saturated hydrocarbons. Paraffin wax is valued for its versatility, low reactivity, and range of applications in industries and households.

Different Types of Paraffin Wax

1

Fully Refined Paraffin Wax

Contains less than 0.5% oil and is used in food, cosmetics, and candles.

2

Semi-Refined Paraffin Wax

Contains 0.5% to 1.5% oil, suitable for industrial applications.

Key Characteristics of Paraffin Wax

Paraffin wax is widely used due to its availability, affordability, and ability to be customized for specific purposes.Meanwhile Paraffin Wax based on Heavy or Light Slack Wax, will be Heavy or Light grade. Heavy grade has a hight melting point & Light Grade is more crystal & clear and has lower melting point.

•Appearance: White, translucent, or colorless.

•Texture: Waxy, solid at room temperature.

•Melting Point: Ranges from 46°C to 68°C (115°F to 154°F), depending on the grade.

•Odor: Odorless in its refined form.

•Hydrophobic: Resists water and moisture.

•Non-toxic: Safe for use in food-related and cosmetic applications.

Applications of Paraffin Wax

1

Candle Making

The most common use, as it burns cleanly and steadily.

2

Cosmetics and Skincare

Used in lip balms, lotions, and paraffin treatments for skin hydration and pain relief.

3

Food Coatings

Protects cheese, fruits, and candies by sealing in freshness and preventing spoilage.

4

Industrial Coatings

Applied to wood, cardboard, and paper products to provide moisture resistance.

5

Rubber and Tires

Added as a protective agent to prevent cracking and degradation in rubber products.

6

Crayons

A key ingredient combined with pigments to create crayons.

7

Heat Therapy

Used in therapeutic treatments to relieve joint pain, arthritis, and muscle stiffness.

8

Electrical Insulation

Acts as a dielectric material in insulating wires and electrical components.

9

Lubrication and Polishes

Used in manufacturing lubricants, floor polishes, and car waxes.
